Ace designer Philippe Starck has developed an eyewear collection that does not have screws

Ace designer Philippe Starck is back! Wondering what is he bringing to the innovative plate this time? Well, after his fabulous transparent smartphone design, or the surreal Hilton hotel that stole hearts he is back to change the way we look at things, quite literally. His newest offering is a collection called the ‘Sphere for Biotch Paris’ and features a line of eyeglasses and sunglasses with his trademark functional design. Making things more functional and practical is his forte and Starck does exactly that with his spherical lock system. For those who wear glasses on a daily basis and know the woes that come along with it will be thrilled when I say Starck’s spherical lock system ensures efficient and smoother movement of the pieces. This also grants us other benefits like glasses not becoming loose or crooked over time. The eyewear also stays in place on the user’s face.

Philippe Starck’s design innovation replaces eyeglass hinges that are prone to wear and tear with his the ball-shaped hinge design that makes it more ready for daily usage. The new collection includes five glasses and sunglasses. They are ultra-lightweight in titanium polymer material. We don’t know how much they will sell for but we do know the Philip Starck Sphere for Biotch Paris Eyewear Collection is only available for purchase at Alain Mikli’s Madison Avenue Boutique.
