One is so used to seeing Presidents, Freedom Fighters and monuments looking back at you from the face of a stamp that this innovative move of the United States Postal Service comes as a pleasant surprise as they celebrate America’s love for food.
They have commemorated five iconic chefs that have been responsible for revolutionizing American cooking by introducing international ingredients and flavours from all over the world.
The five chefs immortalized on the stamps –James Beard, Julia Child, Joyce Chen, Edna Lewis and Edward (Felipe) Rojas- Lombardi have given a new meaning to gastronomy.
The dedication ceremony that took place at the Park Grill in Chicago, showcased the most iconic dishes of these celebrated chefs and revealed the new Limited Edition Celebrity Chefs Forever stamps.
