An amazing paper art installation by artists Zim and Zou at the new Hermès Window Display in Dubai


French duo Zim and Zou have been known for their distinctive works including vintage electronics to colorful chef’s masks. In the recent past too the artists have done up an eclectic window display for Hermès with the use of quirky leather insects and birds. In line with their talents, the pair is now set to reveal yet another mind-boggling window display for the brand. Titled Forest Folks, the art work consists of a dreamlike structure where curious tiny characters and luxury fashion pieces’ dwell together.

The surreal display forms part of a new Hermès store at Mall of the Emirates, Dubai. Crafted by hand, it predominantly plays of the theme of flora and fauna done up as a delicate paper art. While one window shows a motif of a mushroom village, the other shows blooming flower huts. Detailed to perfection, the miniature holdings within, reflect inquisitively on plants and other colorful vegetal forms. The outside of the new store also cleverly utilizes the glass partitions by presenting onlookers a clear peak of the visual displays while also managing to retain the privacy of customers indoor. To resonate on the quality and unique craftsmanship of the brand, the Forest Folks window display also showcases a 2.4-meter-long stunning piece amongst the colorful array of paper builds.

Hermès is also known for coming up with stunning visual displays every now and then. Quiet recently we witnessed the “Nature at full gallop” window display which gave its own unique insight on the nuances of life. Forest Folks too makes us ponder on our attachment with nature and mysteries around it.
