Prepping for a special occasion that requires a bubbly to be popped? How about going for the best champagne in the world? We’re talking about the exclusive Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs 2010 that has been voted as the finest in the Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championship.
Awarded the title of ‘Supreme World Champion’, the cuvée Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs 2010 is outstanding, to say the least. It is made from the finest Chardonnay Grand Crus: 90% from the Côte des Blancs and 10% from the northern slopes of the Montagne de Reims and is inspired by Dom Thierry Ruinart, founder of the house.
Commenting on it, Frédéric Panaïotis, the house’s Cellar Master in a statement said, “It takes time, vision, and a little audacity for us to produce a great vintage. This 2010 vintage marks a turning point. It celebrates the imprint of a year through a great Blanc de Blancs now aged under cork.”
And it isn’t the first time the bubbly has won the coveted title. Early last year too, the champagne was voted as the best across the globe. This time though, the title specifically recognized the intuition of Ruinart’s oenological teams and their ability to render more amplitude and complexity to the spirit.
In addition to being the ‘Supreme World Champion’, the Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs 2010, the house of Ruinart also won titles for the ‘Best Champagne’ and ‘Best French Sparkling Wine’. The awards for the year were presented with much aplomb in London by a panel of judges comprising Tom Stevenson, Essi Avellan, and George Markus.
