Elon Musk is a creator! With Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink, and The Boring Company, he aims to change how the world travels and lives. A while ago, Musk met with another creator, Jack Sweeney, a 19-year-old but certainly didn’t like his creation and wanted the teenager to shut it down. Sweeney built a Twitter bot that tracks Musk’s private flights. The college freshman made a Twitter bot, @ElonJet, that follows the flight movements of the tech billionaire, who is worth $242 billion. Indeed, a security risk for the Space X founder, Musk, got in touch with Jack Sweeney over Twitter DM last fall.

Sweeney is a self-confessed Musk fan and getting the man himself to make a request would’ve made the teenager nervous. He said, “Can you take this down? It is a security risk.” however, Sweeney retorted, “Yes I can but it’ll cost you a Model 3 only joking unless?” ElonJet is one of 15 flight-tracking accounts Sweeney has created that mainly track tech billionaires like Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates. So far, Musk’s account is most popular, with 83,000 followers.

Musk wasn’t happy about the many followers the account was garnering and remarked, “I don’t love the idea of being shot by a nutcase,” in their DM conversation. Musk is the world’s richest man and knows the power of money, which is why it was shocking to learn he attempted to buy him out by offering a measly $5,000 to delete the account. Is that how much billionaire Elon Musk values his personal security? The conversation ended with Sweeney asking Musk to add another 0. “Any chance to up that to $50k? It would be a great support in college and would possibly allow me to get a car, maybe even a Model 3.”
Musk has since left Sweeney in limbo and hasn’t paid a cent. Sweeney isn’t complaining either, and the account is still up and running. The young creator got to have a word with his icon, learned how to code, and even scored a part-time job at UberJets as an application developer.
