Lufthansa Technik unveiled a crazy $100 million VIP widebody private jet cabin concept named Explorer at the Monaco Yacht Show last September. Designed to be a flying equivalent of a luxurious superyacht, the German aviation company had previewed several novelties that are included in the Explorer concept. Lufthansa Technik has now added another unique feature to the Explorer concept that was recently presented at the European Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva. Called the Adventure Lounge, this new extension of the Explorer concept has been created in collaboration with Brabus and it allows motorcycles to be exclusively staged and carried onboard.
“In addition to the floor extending from the front fuselage area to form a veranda and the projection surfaces for virtual content integrated on a large scale in the cabin design, the BRABUS Adventure Lounge perfectly rounds off our concept for world explorers,” explained Jan Grube, Sales Director in VIP & Special Mission Aircraft Services. “This flying platform provides its guests with a very individual base camp for further activities anywhere in the world – now extended by an exciting element with the BRABUS Adventure Lounge. We are particularly pleased to have BRABUS, a globally renowned partner, at our side for the realization of this feature.”
The Adventure Lounge is inspired by the tenders and toys garage found in superyachts that allow its owners to indulge in a wide variety of leisure activities and excursions. With the Airbus A330 as the chosen platform for the Explorer concept, there’s plenty of space on offer for such a unique installation inside the aircraft. The Adventure Lounge has been designed to be located in the rear part of the lower deck and it can be viewed from the main deck through a glass floor. There’s also a staircase connecting the two decks for easy access.
Furthermore, Lufthansa Technik claims a selection of additional vehicles can be stored in the Adventure Lounge along with additional maintenance equipment, just like a superyacht tender garage.
Attractively presented inside the lounge is the stunning Brabus 1300R – the first-ever motorcycle to wear the Brabus badge. The limited-edition motorcycle debuted a few months ago and has been created in collaboration with leading Austrian manufacturer KTM. The hypernaked is based on the KTM 1290 Super Duke R Evo and is priced at around $47,000.
As you can see in the pictures, the Adventure Lounge features a beautiful dark theme that looks to be inspired by the Brabus motorbike. It’s completely decked out in black with red accents and features the Brabus branding.
The Lufthansa Technik Explorer concept
Inspired by go-anywhere luxury superyachts, the concept’s objective is to change the function of the VIP jetliner, which is typically restricted to flying from destination to destination. The conceptual VIP cabin intends to serve as an individual five-star hotel and base camp for the owner of the private jet. The concept design includes a bar, a vast lounge area, three bedrooms with double beds, a gym/emergency flying hospital room, and countless showers; however, the layout and amenities can be customized as per the customer’s requirements.
One of the highlights of the concept is a sundeck that is built on a platform that can be extended by several meters once the main deck cargo hatch is opened. Additionally, the aircraft also features an incredible and unique ceiling projection system of Diehl Aerospace that enables a variety of atmosphere settings in a private jet for the first time.
