Maison Martell has been creating some of the finest spirits for over 300 years now. One of its most coveted makes – L’Or De Jean Martell 1715 (an exceptional cognac named after the brand’s founder Jean Martell), however, steals the show. And in giving it its fair due, the exclusive spirit has now been given a new home in the form of the L’Or De Jean Martell 1715 – Assemblage du Lapin. Forming part of the marquee’s Zodiac edition, it is second in line and marks the year of the rabbit.
Introduced to celebrate the Chinese New Year, the rich and complex cognac of 1,400 Eaux-de-vie features round, supple, and silky notes with hints of candied apricots, prunes, and honeyed fruits. On the nose, one can whiff the aromas of acacia honey and chamomile with notes of myrrh and vanilla.
The decanter itself is a work of art and comes with a gold-painted décor and a crystal stopper that is shaped in the form of a rabbit. The crystal object is crafted exclusively by French crystal house Manufacture Daum and is also exclusively numbered. Carrying a profound legacy of its own, the L’Or De Jean Martell 1715 – Assemblage du Lapin retails at $ 6066 (approximately) and is currently available for purchase on the brand’s official website.
