MSCHF, the Brooklyn-based art collective, is back with billionaire popsicles! Luckily, they don’t cost a billion, but the brand hasn’t shied away from making $1000 Satan shoes or $76,000 sandals made from Hermes Birkin bags and is not averse to exorbitant prices. The cold war with capitalism is taking shape with an “eat the rich” ice cream truck. Sweet-tooth or curiosity, whatever brings you to the truck, you will be met with ice cream designed to resemble the faces of five hyper-famous and hyper-rich billionaire men: Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Jack Ma, and Mark Zuckerberg, shared Thrillist.
The execution of this put-of-the-box idea is what deserves accolades in every flavor, pun intended. “Munch Musk,” “Bite Bezos,” “Gobble Gates,” “Snack on Jack,” and “Suck Zuck” icecreams poke fun at the billionaires and their empires. Bezos is shown next to a warped Amazon logo turned into a frowning face, and Zuckerberg is surrounded by thumbs down on hi, shared NY Post. Elon Musk is believed to be a hot favorite of the dish best served cold.
Daniel Greenberg, a co-founder of MSCHF, stated, “I think every MSCHF output has multiple layers to it. So this is no different, where it will appeal to multiple people. Some might love Musk and some might hate him, but they both still want the popsicle.” Eat the Rich Popsicles will be available from July 11–13 in select locations across NYC and Los Angele for an expensive $10 each. That’s MSCHF being their capitalist self yet again!
