The upcoming Aston Martin Valkyrie doesn’t look anything short of a spaceship. But one of its future owners wants to take things a little further and make his Valkyrie truly out of this world. Kris Singh, a well-known car collector from the United States, is having his hypercar coated in a special paint containing actual moon dust. Yes, you read that right! Singh made the announcement through his Instagram saying that he sourced an authentic moon rock that will be ground and incorporated into his car’s Karosserie Lunar Red exterior hue. The whole idea came to him during his visit to the automaker’s headquarters where a conversation with Aston’s chief designer Miles Nurnberger made Singh think of a unique paintjob with space ingredients.
For the first-of-its-kind paintjob, a rock from the moon will be ground to powder form before being mixed with paint. Kris Singh, however, didn’t disclose from where he sourced the moon rock or how much did it cost him. Space.com on its website gives us a ballpark through a story on a U.S. federal court case over stolen moon rocks, which values the mineral at a whopping US$50,800 per gram. Kris Singh will be one of 150 lucky individuals to take delivery of a Valkyrie, which will join his car collection consisting of a Pagani Huayra BC, Lamborghini Veneno, Koenigsegg Agera XS and many more exotic cars.
