Prada has scored a double whammy by debuting its first fine jewelry line and making it with 100% certified recycled gold. Dubbed the Eternal Gold collection, it features 48 sculptural gold pieces, including a few with pavé diamonds. Per Glamour, the stunning collection is traceable through a chip embedded in a 100% recycled paper card that comes with the piece. The chip can be embedded in the Aura Consortium Blockchain, which aims to prove authenticity as the pieces are passed down through generations.
“Prada’s recycled gold is drawn only from eligible recycled material sources, in compliance with due diligence—including industrial gold, from electronic components and post-consumer precious objects. Prada partners exclusively with those suppliers of precious metal and stones who meet the highest industry standards concerning human rights, labor safety, environmental impact and business ethics,” said Lorenzo Bertelli, group head of corporate social responsibility at Prada.
The brand’s aesthetic comes through the jewelry pieces that don chunky silhouettes, as seen on the snake-shaped wrapping bracelet, bold chain necklaces with heart pendants, and funky ribbon chokers. The bolder pieces of the Eternal Gold collection can be yours only on special orders placed in-store. The rest of the collection will be available online from October 17th, with prices ranging from four figures to $60,000.
